Siliconera interview up with Valkyria Chronicles producer Shinji Motoyama

I probably definitely haven't cut any stuck-up elite from Class A out of this picture

Since I’m in the middle of a serious love affair with Valkyria Chronicles II, this interview really caught my eye today. One of the first things you’ll notice about VCII even before playing it is just how different it is in tone from the original game, the reasons for which were explained in yesterday’s interview.

Apparently the plan is to show the era of the ‘Second Gallian War’ from several different view points, as clearly none of the heroes in the 2nd game have ever been exposed to war before where in the 1st there was a mix between new recruits, seasoned veterans and the occasional disenfranchised sky pirate. Which also goes to explain the focus on the ‘Nameless’ for the story of the third game in the series. Also interesting is the segment on what parts of moving the game over to the PSP from the PS3 were problematic for the team. The short answer to that is; Everything. For the long answer, be sure to check out the entire interview (It’s spoiler-free, I checked) in the link above. I love the direction the series is headed in, and I can’t wait to see more of ‘The Nameless’ in the coming months.
