Stevie Grant- Writer of Top 10 Worst and Reviews of Games I Haven’t Played:

I played Super Meat Boy for review. I won’t say everything about it since I still gotta do the write up but it is very, very hard. And fun. Also I played Sonic 4. Yup.

Brett Hatfield- Community Manager and writer of Megadriving:
Yeah, as cliché as it’ll probably sound, SONIC 4. I love this game. Absolutely LOVE IT. Also played a bit more Soul Calibur IV, and put the disc for Resonance of Fate in, at least, but that’s about it. I’ve just been spindashin’ like a boss since Tuesday.

Andrew Galbraith- Writer of Contemporary Alternatives and Miscoded Confidence:
Hey all, been playing a lot of Sonic 4 and it’s just awesome…I’m only kidding, I haven’t even gotten to it yet. Been playing the hell out of World of Warcraft since I recently got out of a relationship with someone who wasn’t exactly crazy about the MMO…or video games in general really – so it’s been a pretty stellar week of becoming reacquainted with something I really missed. In other news, I’m still kicking myself for pushing through Hydrophobia, but in the meantime, Super Meatboy had proven to be this weeks delight in an otherwise stagnant period of time until more Fall releases arrive.

Alex Barbatsis- Writer of Retro Reviews and Freaky Fridays:
Well I just donated too much money to Destructoids extra life charity gaming marathon and feel great about it. I’ll be playing picking up extra shifts this week. Currently still on Mario Galaxy 2 and played Carrier for Freaky Friday. Boring game yo. If you want to donate and help kids grow up yo be busty ladies and pro football players, google extra life. If you can’t afford it, volunteer at a library or some shit.

Josh Newey- Writer of With Great Power Comes Great Games and Underappreciated Gems:
The other day, I downloaded Sonic 4. I Sonic 4ed for the next several hours straight. When my girlfriend told me I was Sonic 4ing too much, I Sonic 4ed her across the face until she Sonic 4ed over onto the living room carpet. The neighbors overheard screaming and Sonic 4ed the police. Now I’m locked up in Sonic 4 without possibility of Sonic 4. Sonic 4 Sonic 4 Sonic 4 Sonic 4. Also, Plants Vs Zombies.

Pat Reddick- Community Manager and writer of Forum News and Not-so Classics:
This week I played the abomination that was Divine Sealing. That game pissed me off so much. I’m glad that I’ll never be forced to play that garbage again. I also played quite a lot of Street Fighter 2 with some friends over the weekend. It’s amazing how much more fun fighting games can be when you play them with people. Is it just me or does that not happen very often? Maybe I just lead a lonely life. Well I’ll go cry now.

Matthew Jay- Writer of 10 Things That Aren’t Sonic and Radvertisements:
Pfffffffffff uuuuuuuhhhhh um. Marioland? I’ve been really busy.

Alexander Sargeant- Writer of Retro Reviews:
Sonic 4 of course, but we’ll save that for the moment. Other than that, Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 because it’s called Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. It’s also developed by CyberConnect 2 who’re working with Capcom on Asura’s Wrath, and clearly demonstrates why that game looks as good as it does. Most of UNS is pretty uninspired, but some of the attacks and definitely the ingame cinematics mid-fight are the among the nicest cel-shaded animations I have ever seen in a game. It’s seriously impressive stuff.

Naturally, I’ve also been playing Sengoku BASARA: Samurai Heroes, which is ludicrous. All you need to know is this; I encountered a tiger and his handler which caused the words TIGER TIME to splatter across the screen, whom I then starting smashing in the face with a spear in each hand whilst surfing a horse. It’s also a game where 2000 HIT combos are mundane. I am in heaven.

Kris Knigge- Reviewer and Podcast Co-host:
School, mostly. Also SONIC 4!!! Excitement abounds.

Tom Kyzivat- Artist and Podcast Co-host:

I still suck and I haven’t played anything. All this Sonic 4 talk has gotten me wanting to play Sonic 1-3 again, at least until I can get my hands on a 360…

Alex Riggen- Editor in Chief and Podcast Host:
I have been playing Sonic the Hedgehog 4. It’s a game about a blue hedgehog that can run really fast. It’s kind of like Mario and I guess it’s a sequel to a bunch of games that were popular in the 90’s. I like it.

I think you could have guessed that a certain hedgehog would be appearing in this weeks article a lot. Well that was that. You can tell me what you’ve been playing of you like. You don’t have to but you can. Just making your options clear. I’ll see you next week for ‘What we’ve been playing 4: Sega Addicts vs. Alien vs. Predator- Requiem’.

  1. Yeah, the Sonic 4 demo was about all I could muster this busy week. Valkyria Chronicles still sits unopened on my coffee table, staring at me every time I walk through the living room reminding me of the grand times we can spend together if I’d only just give her a chance. Soon, sweet baby, soon.
