NiGHTS into Steam

Nights-500x375

You know I couldn’t pass that phrase up, right? Yes well awesome jokes aside, NiGHTS into Dreams has now made its way to Steam for all Windows PC owners to enjoy. This digital delight arrives just in time for newcomers to enjoy the added bonus of Christmas NiGHTS on Christmas day. I hope everyone picking this up has a game controller of some sort, because I cannot imagine attempting this game with a keyboard. Regardless, the game will look beautiful on all monitors across the world now, and for only $9.99. Anyone plan on grabbing this version who hasn’t enjoyed the adventure on their consoles already?

  1. Got it as I literally don’t have a console past the ps2.

    Some notes:

    > Control is great on a 360 pad. (But you have to launch setting first for the game to lock on to it, first launch will try to use the keyboard even if the pad is already plugged up)

    > Saturn mode can be played in widescreen without letterboxing. (This is sweetness.)

    > Saturn mode uses filtering other than nearest neighbor on the sprites. So where they should be pixely they look blurred. (You can force this in your graphic’s driver’s settings but it will effect both SS and HD which sucks.)

    > All pros and cons from the original still stand from what I remember. (The one thing I would’ve changed [the boss fights] remains saturn true to my memory.)

    > Windowed mode works great for people who like to tab to chat windows while playing. (This can be a problem for some PC games, but all of Sega’s latest ports have been respectful with not forcing full screen.)

  2. Haha excellent title for your article

Now do I purchase just to support NiGHTS as I already have this game in so many formats??

And I’m assuming that minor control update that happened is already present on this version?

    • Thanks! I can’t pass up a good pun. But calling something a “good pun” is probably an oxymoron.

If I didn’t have a Mac, I probably would snag this just to support the good cause.

I’m assuming that it has the controller update as well, but I haven’t heard for sure yet.
