Some of you may have forgotten that this game was even getting ported to the 3DS. Some of you may be waiting to play it for the first time. Either way, it’s worth the wait. Sega confirmed today that the game will be releasing on February 8th in Europe and February 12th in North America. The 3DS version of the game includes Street Pass challenges, as well as online play. The most notable feature though is the single-cart 8-player multiplayer. More games definitely need this single-cart play on the 3DS, as I think it would entice some people (who aren’t total moochers) to buy a game after they try it with a friend or two. I enjoyed what I played on the Xbox 360 version, and could definitely see this game taking the place of Mario Kart 7.

The launch version of the game will be the Bonus Edition just as it was on the console and Vita release, which includes Metal Sonic as a character with his special Mod pack, and the Outrun Bay Track.
