Part of me wants to visit Japan and just take a week exploring their arcades. Darn you, America, for giving up on arcades so quickly! Anyway, hit the jump to see some more videos of games Sega showed everyone at JEXPO 2013 .

Sega is far from giving up on the arcade market as the video above shows. Shining Force Cross looks like an amazing hack-n-slash adventure RPG which would easily consume any brawler or Phantasy Star Online fan’s life if the machine was nearby. The below videos show off Code of Joker: a game incorporating trading cards in a battling game with very vivid and cinematic graphics. Both games look awesome and make me incredibly jealous that I will never get to play them here in the US. What do you guys think? Anyone wanna take a trip to Japan with me?

  1. These games look awesome! It really is a shame that arcades these days are nothing but mere amusement parks, essentially. My local arcade only has one fighting game, Tekken 6, and the buttons don’t even work. But, hey, at least it has Daytona USA and the House of the Dead 4. Those two I’ve played many times there.

That’s all I need in an arcade, haha! But yeah I hear ya. I miss the good ol’ days of arcades.

      • The arcade recently got a huge makeover. Before it had dull lights, the colorful confetti carpet, tons of fighting games and whatnot. It was so nostalgic for me. I used to play Marvel vs. Capcom 2 there. Then… the arcade got a makeover and now it’s competing for the Chuck E. Cheese location in the same mall, and it definitely shows. Eh, at least I’ve got some SEGA classics.

  2. I miss the old art style of the Shining series. This newer stuff is nice, but I like the older stuff for some reason

Could be nostalgia for all Climax games of that era
