Sega and Creative Assembly have finally announced the release date for the long awaited sequel in the massively acclaimed Total War series, Rome 2. To celebrate the September 3rd launch across all regions and platforms, info on the collector’s edition and bonuses to those who pre-order have also been announced.

For players that pre-order the title from participating retailers, they will be entitled to the game’s first DLC pack free of charge. The Greek States Culture packs will add three playable factions – Epirus, Athens and Sparta – to the game for day one of release.

As well as that, the Rome II Collector’s Edition will be limited to 22,000 copies. In a uniquely carved, steelbook case, the edition will also feature playing cards, Tessarae dice, a canvas campaign map, a Tabula set – the forerunner to Backgammon – and a Roman Onager siege catapult model.

Pre-order the game now directly from Sega and check out the recently announced free Pontus DLC.
