Sega Addicts Episode 137

We’ll be recording Episode 137 tomorrow night and the main topic is zany/unique/weird/crazy games! Any game that breaks out of traditional genre norms or has ideas that are completely unique, we’ll likely discuss it. And if you’ve got some comments or questions relating to some unique games or anything Sega in general please leave them in the comments below!

  1. No discussion of unique games would be complete without mentioning Burning Rangers for the Saturn. I never thought the concept would fly, but I was pleasantly surprised once I got the chance to play it. I would love an HD sequel/remake, but I know it won’t happen. However, do you guys think we might ever get a Saturn Collection similar to the Genesis Collection which might feature Burning Rangers and other Saturn classics?

First question: When I think weird and zany games, I think SEGA CD. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. Wirehead. Panic! and Wild Woody all come to mind. I think in a way there was more creativity during this time than the Dreamcast era. But do you think these games were weird or just a product of their time? Or were they just bad?

Second Question: Anyone play Cho Aniki for saturn? I have never seen a weirder game in my life.

1-Being a 32X-er, One game I always wanted to play was Kolibri. Did any of you ever play this game? Does it have Ecco-like sensibilities? I’ve always wondered if it was an art game, but it seems more like a shmup.

2-Anyone ever played Panic! for Sega CD? That might be the weirdest game I ever played. Also had the best soundtrack.

3-Is Boogerman the silliest game ever made?

4-Is Zoop really America’s largest killer of time?

    Thanks!
