Free-to-play Initial D game revealed by Famitsu

INI-D

The latest game in the long running Initial D franchise (which includes anime and manga) will be coming to 3DS. At least in Japan that is. Revealed in the latest Famitsu magazine, Initial D Perfect Shift Online looks to be a driving take in the ‘auto running’ genre that’s become popular as of late. The cars will steer by themselves while the main gameplay reportedly seems to revolve around selecting different gears while racing.

If that sounds interesting… then I wouldn’t get your hopes up just yet. Yes, they may have developed a cult audience in the West but due to the horror that is licensing agreements overseas, we may not see this free instalment in this series anytime soon.

However it’s still interesting to think about. With no videos or screenshots how would a free-to-play Initial D game play on 3DS? Let us know what you think in the comments!
