Hero Bank 2 Coming to Japanese 3DS in November

Games, it would seem, are never just games anymore. Sonic Boom-style trans-media tie-ins may not be the rule just yet, but they are by no means the exception. The likes of Yo-Kai Watch by Level 5, Chō Soku Henkei Gyrozetter by Square Enix and Capcom’s Gaist Crusher all exist as much broader franchises. Sega’s own Hero Bank, released in March 2014 in Japan, has a manga, an anime and now a sequel. Slated for a November 27 launch on 3DS it is unlikely that the title will retail outside of Japan. Hero Bank follows the story of Kaito, an elementary school student who gets himself into ¥10billion of debt. He has to repay this debt by using his golden suit to fight in a sport called ‘Hero Battle’. Those interested in Kaito’s exploits can catch the anime on Crunchyroll, the original title is available from Play-Asia and doubtless other import stores, with the sequel to follow later this year.
