calltowriters

Do you have a passion for SEGA and SEGA-related games? Is your favorite animal the fastest hedgehog alive? Do you find yourself constantly looking for sailors? Then maybe you should be writing for Sega-Addicts.com!

We are calling out all SEGA fans, as well as Atlus fans, to write for Sega-Addicts.com in a variety of areas on the website. Hit the jump to see what positions we are looking to fill.

NEWS WRITER

The job of a news writer for the site is to keep up to date with Sega/Atlus news and report it. The News Editor supplies different articles for writers, or writers can find their own articles and post them as they please. Posting articles can include anything from summarizing an interview, to commenting on a new launch trailer, to confessing your love for Cream the Rabbit when her solo-adventure is announced.

If you are interested in this position, please send us a sample of your writing ranging from 300-400 words. Also, tell us a bit about yourself and your love of Sega.

NEWS EDITOR

The News Editor not only updates the site on his/her assigned days, but also finds Sega/Atlus-related articles and shares them with the writing staff to allow for a wide spread of updates through-out the week. On a daily basis, the News Editor will search the internet for articles, videos, upcoming events, etc to hand over to the writing staff for news updates. Also, in the event of a writer being unable to post articles on his/her assigned day, the News Editor may need to post some articles to keep the site active.

As with the previously mentioned position, if you are interested in this position, please send us a sample of your writing ranging from 300-400 words. Also, tell us a bit about yourself and your love of Sega.

COMMUNITY MANAGERS

Do you love talking about Sega, or video games, or anything and everything while shooting the breeze with other gamers online? This may be a perfect job for you. Our Forums are filled with great people and great conversation, but it can sometimes be difficult for a single person to manage these, which is why we are opening this position to more than just one person.

Community Managers routinely visit the Forum to make sure everyone is being respectful to others, but also to initiate conversation with new topics, forum-based games, or any other type of internet conversing.

As with the previously mentioned position, if you are interested in this position, please send us a sample of your writing ranging from 200-300 words. Also, tell us a bit about yourself and your love of Sega.

REVIEWS WRITER

We are all here because of one thing: video games, and our love of playing them. So why not let others know why they should play or stay away from certain games? As a Review Writer, you’ll be asked to play and discuss Sega/Atlus games in a typical writing fashion, and also get the ability to fit everything into our Sega Addicts Report Card.

This position is not limited to reviewing only new and current games. There is a wide range in Sega’s library from the past, which can be represented through our Retro Reviews. Along with games, you have the opportunity to review consoles (link to Retro Console review), books, and even music (link to String Arcade), among other areas representing Sega.

As with the previously mentioned position, if you are interested in this position, please send us a sample of your writing ranging from 300-400 words. Also, tell us a bit about yourself and your love of Sega.

FEATURES WRITER

Do you love talking about your Dreamcast collection? Have you filmed short sit-coms with your Sonic plushies? Do you love picking the brain of others regarding their Top 10 favorite Sega Genesis titles? Or do you simply want to write about Sega but lack the free time to keep up with a daily news schedule, or the forums? Then becoming a Features Writer may be perfect for you.

Our new Features Editor, Pocky X is looking for new ideas to add on a bi-weekly, or even monthly basis to Sega-Addicts.com. Such ideas can include your retrospective on hard-to-find Sega-related games and merchandise, the best uses for a Dreamcast VMU outside of saving game data, or something as basic as your monthly view on what Sega was up to 10 years ago.

If you are interested in writing Features for Sega-Addicts, send us a sample of your writing ranging from 400-500 words depicting any feature idea you may have. Along with this, tell us about your love for Sega.

You may be saying to yourself, “I would love to contribute to Sega-Addicts.com, but none of these positions seem to be something I can do! What do I do?!” Fear not, fellow Sega fan! There are many other ways to contribute to Sega-Addicts. If you are still interested in the website, feel free to e-mail us and we can do our best to find a spot for you to fill.
