Breaking news: Bayonetta 2 officially annouced for the WiiU

[UPDATE: Additional ‘shoe’ image added after the jump, Youtube video added as header]

Bayonetta 2 has been officially announced and will be developed by Platinum games, directed by Yusuke Hashimo and will be published by Nintendo as a WiiU exclusive. The news has come from a recent Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast, with two official images being captured from the broadcast by a NeoGAF member. The two images in an uncropped form can be seen after the jump.

Bayonetta is easily one of, if not the best big budget releases of this generation in this writer’s opinion. After the news some months ago of cuts at Sega and rumours of a cancelled Bayonetta sequel, I’m ecstatic to see that our favourite witch is back. I’m all fuzzy and warm inside. How do you feel, let us know in the comments below!
