It’s always weird to think about how times have changed, but nothing cements that fact further than this peculiar piece of news. Hirokazu Yasuhara (one of the co-creators of Sonic the Hedgehog) has reportedly joined Nintendo’s Software Technology department. This division of Nintendo has in the past released Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem and Metroid Prime Hunters.
His new role has been unannounced but it’s important to note that Yasuhara has worked at various other videogame companies before. Just last month he left Namco Bandai for example, and his role at Sega is practically ancient history by now. Either way it’s still weird to think about. One of Sonic’s fathers bats for the Nintendo team now. Oh how the tides have turned.
