Kickstarting a game project seems to be all the rage at the moment, and there are certainly a lot of benefits here, especially for indy studios. Remember NG:DEV.TEAM? They made GunLord, Fast Striker, Last Hope and DUX, which were partially also created for the Sega Dreamcast. For their latest project, Redux: Dark Matters, they are looking at crowdsourcing to fund the game and want to 25k $. The video above shows you the Alpha version of the game and also feature some of the soundtrack of legendary videogame composer Chris Huelsbeck, who was responsible for the Turrican and R-Type soundtracks. The game is coming to pretty much every download platform available: XBLA, PSN, Steam and iOS, with HD visuals where possible.
They already have 19k$ and there are still 27 days left! I think they will be getting some extra money which will make it possible for them to create even more content. Want to back the project? Then head over here!
Love the idea of the whole Kickstarter thing and I hope this one is a success. Not super keen on the game at this point, but I still threw them a few bucks.
Good job, Grolt. They’re already up to 22k! At this speed, they’ll meet their goal with more than 20 days left. Maybe they’ll have some expanded goals later one?
