I don’t know about you, but I’m reeling at the idea that they could be releasing this game for any modern audiences. Don’t get me wrong; I actually love the thing. That’s right–I love Sonic: The Fighters. Sure, it’s sloppy, shallow, and absurd, but hell, it’s just oozing with early Sonic charm. Plus, you get to beat Amy Rose to a pulp, so quit your whining. But regardless of my closet fandom, I can’t believe that Sega would be breathing new life into what is widely accepted as one of the silliest fighters ever. Go figure.
Anyway, the game is not yet confirmed for US audiences, but since the folks over at Exophase have revealed its achievements, I think it’s fair to think that we could hear something soon. You may not want it, but I sure as hell do.

Odd choice to release. This game is pretty crappy.
I think it’s more of, “hey we’re releasing model 2 fighters and this is an oddball that people may check out.”
If I remember correctly, the only reason it was initially made was on a whim to test out some tweaks in the fighting engine.
Since they were already doing Model 2 fighters, they’d be dumb to ignore something that has their cash cow’s name in the title. People will buy it, even if it is terrible. I mean, this is Sonic we’re talking about.
Yep. Atleast it’s better than Sonic Shuffle.
