I just can’t quit you, can I?

News on the next entry in the series I love to hate and hate to love (Hyperdimension Neptunia) has been scarce since Hyperdimension Neptunia Re; Birth 1‘s announcement back in March. But it looks like Compile Heart’s finally ready to speak on the series’ first foray onto the Vita.

As revealed in Famitsu and translated by SGCafe, the hideously titled RPG will be a portable remake of the first Hyperdimension Neptunia game, with several new scenes, and gameplay features that debuted in the surprisingly decent Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. Also revealed was the game’s Japanese release date, which will be October 31st. No word on an Western release date yet, though.

I’m really not sure how to feel about this development. While the series doesn’t have a very good track record around these parts, Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory was a massive step in in the right direction, and if the game feels more like that than the first two entries, it might just be worth a shot. While I don’t own a PS Vita just yet, I begrudgingly admit that I’ll likely pick this up when I get one.

Any thoughts on the premise? Are you excited to see the old game with new tricks? Or were you hoping for something that continues the storyline? Let us know in the comments!
