Sonic has always had a insatiable love for Chili Dogs, but what happens when he finally lets himself go and becomes an obese monster on a scale comparable to Jabba the Hutt? Well, users Captain Bozo and Ranger unveiled their heavyweight beast on the Sonic Retro forums. Aptly named, ‘Sonic 2 XL’, it’s terrifying in it’s brilliance. The hack renders all of the rings in the sequel to the lauded original into onion rings, ripe for delicious, heart-clogging consumption.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, consume too many rings and you become as mobile as a broken-down hippopotamus. But as with any weight gain, it doesn’t happen immediately. The hack allows for the change to occur over a course of time, which is completely dependent on how fast you consume those rings. Included is a video from youtube, which shows the fastest blue hedgehog known to man quickly going downhill into a slump that would make any out of work actor proud.
The hack for the game can be found here. You should check it out if for no other reason than I found it more astonishingly grim than when my Wii Fit told me I had a few pounds to lose.

So, does Sonic die if you get too obese? It looks that way in the video and that would be awesome.
That’s exactly what happens. I’ve been playing this and it’s awesome. Makes me feel fat though. lol
Wow that’s actually really hard
This seriously has me thinking. Can a video game stop childhood obesity?
