Stephen Frost talks about Sega of Japan’s involvement in Shinobi 3DS

Siliconera has posted an interesting interview with Stephen Frost, the producer behind Shinobi 3DS. He talks a lot about the gameplay and how the whole system works, but also describes how the team works together with Sega of Japan:

They look through, they give feedback, and they comment on our decisions and stuff like that. From the get-go, they’ve been very supportive and very excited. Fundamentally, Shinobi has been a Japanese franchise, but they’re excited to see a North American version of it, not just for the American audience but also for the Japanese audience who is looking for a fresh take on the stuff they’ve been playing for a while.

It’s good to see that they work together so closeley, ensuring that the game feels like it belongs to the Shinobi franchise. Head over to Siliconera for more details!

  1. This is good to hear, I’m glad the days of the closed walls between Japan/US developers is getting more distant.

So agreed. I just wish Japanese developers understood more about the American game market.
