Most gamers are not aware of it but among the retro heads out there are hard core hobbyists who search, scrounge, and hunt down old hardware and software prototypes. They try to find alpha build copies of games or old trade fare demos and then they mine them to see get a look at the development behind a game.
A thread on SMS Power is covering a find that is nigh-holy grail for prototype lovers, a pre-release build of a Gamegear game that included a mock-up for the game case and manual. Since these are materials that are almost always destroyed once marketing comes up with the final packaging, this is pretty unique.
Yeah, the game is some random Codemasters golf title but for the kinds of guys and gals that are into prototypes, that’s not too important.
