Hot off the heels of the announcement that Game Gear games would be available for download on 3DS, Sega announced today which titles those will be. The games coming include:
- Sonic and Tails 2
- Sonic Drift 2
- Columns
- The GG Shinobi
- Dragon Crystal: Shirani’s Maze
Hopefully Sega will continue to support the download system with new games.
My knowledge of Game Gear games is a bit rusty, are any of these games worth buying?

They’re all actually decent Game Gear games, although, my experience with Sonic Drift 2 is limited and not that impressive. Shinobi and Sonic 2 are pretty good ports though. As for Columns, you pretty much know what you’re getting into if you purchase that.
My mum is going to want columns she was obsessed with it on the Game-gear until it broke.
The only games I remember playing on game gear
was a TAZ-manian devil game and a mickey mouse game.
Yeah, I would definitely recommend Sonic and Tails 2. That is, if my nostalgia isn’t drowning my rationale.
