It’s already time for the second part of the commentary from Stevie Grant and myself on my playthrough of Sonic 4 Episode 1. We talk about He-Man, prostitutes not being in any of the Casino themed zones in Sonic games and have a special message to our very own Joshua Newey!
Looking for the first video? It’s right over here!
Traitor!
Maybe you should play it again, too?
Honestly, I was never a fan of the Casino levels in the other Sonic games, but I actually quite liked this one in Episode I. It plays fast, I like being able to control the springs and paddles, and then when you need to use all the cards to get across the level at the end is a fun (albeit sometimes frustrating) challenge. Looking back at the game though, Sonic really does look off when he’s walking. I never did have a problem with the physics when it first came out, but looking now, it seems to stand out a lot more.
Yeah, I agree with you Grolt. Never had problems on my first two playthroughs, but in this one, things got weird!
These videos have made me realise how rubbish this game was. I played the hell out of it when it came out, but then I played Sonic Colours, and then Sonic Generations, and now Sonic 4 sits on the Xbox hard-drive gathering digital dust unplayed.
I think I’m just going to start calling the new entry ‘Sonic 4 II’ and ignore the fact that it’s some sort of ‘episode’ entirely.
