Clearly the moment we’ve all been waiting for with bated breath, Sega has finally released some substantial gameplay footage from the Wii-U’s Sonic Boom: The Rise of Lyric, and that’s not all. This gives us our first listen to the in-game dialogue and music as well, and if you missed the constant ‘witty’ dialogue from previous Sonic games, you are in for a treat. And by ‘treat’ I mean ‘mental breakdown by constantly being reminded of Sonic Heroes‘. The music, sadly, is also way off the golden standard the series usually sets, so here’s hoping that gets fixed before launch as well.
Luckily, though, the game itself looks decently fun, and back to a faster pace than Sonic Lost World‘s Mario-esque snail’s pace at least. This likely won’t be the last we’ll see or hear of either Sonic Boom game this week, so keep checking back here for more news, and bad voice clips, as we get them.
That…..rope mechanic……dear god, someone tell me this was partially inspired by Knuckles’ Chaotix
