Happy Wednesday, Sega-addicts. There has been a lot of fun stuff going on in the forums since we last met, some of it is extremely zany. What does this mean for you? Well, it means you should join the forums and start posting right now! This week we have lots of video game chat, Stevie going crazy up in here, and Halloween related shenanigans. Hit the “More” button to read on.
As always we’ll start with the challenge(s). Since I only gave us the one challenge, I’ll just use it as a segue to talking about the Podcast section. The challenge was simply to post in this here thread right here and suggest things you would like to see in our forum. Well, that happened, so congratulations, we went 100% two weeks in a row! A lot of the suggestions were focused around Panthers, so we’ll see what we can do about that. Also in the podcast section we discussed Podcast 32 – Climax Graphics. As always the podcast thread was extremely popular, so there’s lots to talk about if you’ve played Climax’s games or are a horror fan in general.
While we’re talking about games, in the Sega Gaming section we discussed Sonic Adventure and Resonance of Fate. Hopefully everyone knows about Sonic Adventure because that game’s been out for quite a few years, and the thread is relatively old, so I’ll focus more on Resonance of Fate. In case you don’t remember it, it was the esoteric JRPG that Sega decided to release alongside God of War and Final Fantasy XIII. Smooth move, Sega. Despite this, the game is apparently really good, so get in there and enlighten yourself about it. On the non-Sega side of things we switched it up a little bit and talked mainly about new topics. For one we discussed the addictive qualities of the Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch. We also talked about incredible Theme Tunes. That flows pretty well from a Mega Man related topic, eh? Finally, in honour of Halloween, we talked about Costume Quest.
Speaking of Halloween and costumes, in the Bar we talked about the epic struggle that is finding a Halloween costume. The Bar thread was centered around the Phoenix Wright/Prof. Layton crossover game, Sonic Colours and chicken fingers/strips. That seems relatively tame for the Bar; here’s why. Stevie made a thing called STEVIE’S FORUM, and boy is it crazy. So far we’ve been talking about Goosebumps and Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books. Also, I have been awarded 50 Stevie points… whatever they are. But wait, there’s more! Stevie also enlightened us to a video that is “possibly NSFW I guess” according to Stevie. According to a normal person, however, it is very very NSFW and don’t click any links unless you are the age of majority in your state/province/country. Anyway, the thread is here and is called Dr. Dick. Lord help us all.
Elsewhere in the forums I tried to revive the YouTube thread which you should all make awesome by posting videos not dissimilar to the Dr. Dick video. Also in the Music/Movies/Books/Comics/Stuff section we talked about our favourite licensed games on Sega systems. Here’s the catch: it has to be a license that is either a movie, a book or comics. Seems like a fun little game, I’ll be preparing my list shortly. In the Bananas and Pepsi Max section we talked about Ice Cream and Spin-off Sodas. The spin-off soda thread is now about which ones you hated, so if you’ve already told us what your favourite was, get back in there and tell us which ones you hate.
With that we are left with the challenges. Here, I’m going to experiment in the coming weeks and months with different concepts. Perhaps monthly challenges, maybe challenges that refresh once they are completed, maybe I’ll just do fewer challenges that are more difficult than normal. Or, maybe I’ll just not mess with the formula. Either way, the only challenge this week is to give me recommendations on what you would like to see done with the challenges. In the mean time, I’ll see you in the forums.
Recommendations…Let’s see…

PANTHERS.
