While the Stop Online Piracy Act has caused a lot of controversy in the gaming industry, it seems we know very little about what the actual gaming corporations think about it. Which this in mind the Hot Blooded Gaming community sent out a mass email to a bunch of videogame developers, including our beloved Sega.
The response they got was well, a little confusing to say the least. Sega replied with an email stating that:
Generally these issues are caused by bad installs or junk data that’s stuck in the system’s memory…
Another choice quote was that:
The first suggestion would be to perform a hard reset on the device. It’s best to attempt this any time you experience performance problems with your device or have an app crash. If that doesn’t work, it’s suggested you uninstall the app, perform a hard reset, reinstall and then perform one more hard reset before launching the game.
Obviously this was a generic email that Sega replies to consumers with computer problems. But hey at least they made a funny video about it (as seen above) and apologised because it wasn’t the very best, or appropriate thing to say. Weirdly they did not include their actual opinions in the video. Sly move Sega.
