Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car arcade game caught of film

Now that April 1st has blown over, I felt it necessary to post this amazing footage taken by Youtube member Ehfvanteis, showing the exterior and interior of the extremely rare Sonic arcade game Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car. Combined with an entire playthrough of the game, it is potentially the most complete footage of the game in existence.

Originally released in Japan only in 1991, Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car (literally translated to Exciting Sonic Patrol Car) was an early attempt at combining a simple video game with a children’s ride. The short game sees Sonic assume the role of a police officer, complete with a policeman’s cap and police car, chasing down a road-raging Dr. Robotnik. The most adorable aspect of the game is that no matter what you do, you always win! I wouldn’t think twice about jumping into that cute arcade machine and learn about road safety with my buddy Sonic, what about you lot?
