Hatsune Miku's designer redesigns Sega consoles as magical girls

Here’s another cool product of the relationship between Sega and the uber-popular Vocaloid synthesizer program in Japan. KEI, the designer of various Vocaloids, including arguably Japan’s top fictional idol, Hatsune Miku, has reimagined our beloved Dreamcast as a Vocaloid-esque character, and has done the same with other Sega hardware.

The designs are for a t-shirt line (entitled “Rekidai Sega Hard Onna no Ko Keikaku”) sold by Japanese cosplay store, Cospa, with the above design going on sale this fall. It’ll make its early debut at Tokyo Game Show, as well as a couple other Japanese conventions, before being sold online at some point in October. The price point is around 3045 Yen, or 40 bucks here in the States.

It’s a bit too pricey for a t-shirt, at least for my money, but the design is nice enough (I especially like the DC controller on her sailor scout tiara), and as a fan of both Sega and Vocaloid, it’s cool to see this little relationship continue to grow. I’m incredibly interested to see KEI’s take on the rest of Sega’s line-up.
