It seems there may have been some confusion within the estranged mind of your humble Sega Addicts news editor, as what was thought to have been the immediate global release of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Core Fighters was in fact limited to particular areas of the world. In fact, after writing the news post regarding the release of the free-to-play fighter on the PlayStation Network, I headed to the digital store myself to get in on the action. However, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Core Fighters was nowhere to be seen.
Turns out that even though the Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate press release sent to Sega Addicts was from publisher Tecmo Koei’s European office, the game was not, and is not, available on the European PlayStation Network.
Bewildered, I hit the internet in search of answers, only to find plenty of North Americans commenting on how fun Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Core Fighters was to play. My next act was to blast an email directly at the sender of the confusing press release, receiving the following nugget of information in response:
It will be available on PSN in Europe as well.
Just my luck, considering Sega’s response to my Phantasy Star Online 2 questioning. I’ve contacted Tecmo Koei’s PR team once more for answers, but until I get a reply, feel free to read over the section of the Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate press release in question after the jump.
