PS3 House of the Dead: Overkill will contain 60% more content

If you’re like me, you’ll agree the announcement of House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut was a bittersweet experience. On one hand, I was throwing emotional confetti all around my living room – House of the Dead, finally in HD! On the other hand though, I was bummed to see yet another gussied-up port of a pre-existing title. Where’s my HOTD4?

I guess it’s time to quit my complaining, as Sega has promised 60% more material in this PS3 rerelease. Expect new stages, new scenarios, new enemies, new weapons, new unlockables, new audio tracks, new zombie modeling, improved motion capture physics, and new levels of difficulty to further spice up the experience. There’s even a brand new cutscene mini game that allows you to blast censor bars away from all the naughty words seen onscreen… And trust me, there are going to be a LOT of naughty words.

It may not be House of the Dead 4, but it’s easily the next best thing.

  1. hope its 60% more cheesy

  2. HotD4 is pretty bad, actually. Overkill is much, much better.

  3. i like how in one cut scene of overkill that a guys glasses get knocked off then the next scene they are back on

  4. I’ll agree with Kris that HOTD4 is bad, but only because the gun was huge, heavy, and you had to literally shake it to get enemies off yourself.

That being said, those things would hopefully not apply to a port of HOTD4.

ANYWAY! That censor bar game sounds awesome. I love silly bonuses like that.

I already planned on getting this game, but the bonus stuff makes it all that more appealing, especially at the $40 price tag. Woo!

  5. There’s a HotD 4?

    • Yeah, it came out in arcades about 5 years ago. It hasn’t ever come to a home console so far. I personally really like the game although I agree with Scotty that the shaking was annoying. I’d love to see it ported to PS3 Move.
