With the Japanese release date finally announced (August 29th), it was only a matter of time before we caught wind of the ultra-rare limited editions we’ll likely never see stateside. Right on time, Namco Bandai has announced the Gold Experience Box limited edition set, which includes quite the heaping handful of lavish extras, including:
- A copy of the game
- A limited edition box
- A golden art plate featuring work by the manga’s original author, Hirohiko Araki
- A Jutaro Kujo special figure
- The game’s soundtrack
- A Hayato Kawajiri notepad (also available as a preorder bonus)
- A Yoshikage Kira playable character code (also available as a preorder bonus)
Despite the whopping 16,980 yen price tag (approximately $172), this bounty of extras is sure to turn the head of any manga fan. Even I, an average Joe with only marginal experience with the Dreamcast game and zero interest in Japanese comics, have a real itch to see that lovely figurine in person.
But hell, I’ll just thank my lucky stars if the game gets localized at all.
