Scratch that Sonic itch with the Freedom Planet Demo v1.2

http://youtu.be/DJq4hSGMeLM

Version 1.2 of the Sonic inspired platformer Freedom Planet‘s Demo has been released.  Developed by indie team GalaxyTrail, the new demo contains numerous new features including:

  • Playable character Lilac has had a design overhaul.
  • The second playable character Carol has an additional attack: Wild Kick.
  • A new level has been made playable: Shang Mu Academy.
  • New shields can be acquired.

This impressive project just seems to get better and better every time new footage is shown. At this rate we’ll have a game that may rival the blue blur himself. The demo can be downloaded here. Have a crack at it and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

  1. Just downloaded and tried the demo. Pretty impressed overall. It took me nearly 15 minutes to get through the first stage, which was in 3 parts.

The game reminds me more of a faster paced Ristar than a Sonic clone in most areas. Either way I’m excited for the final product.
