Say what you will about Sonic CD’s uneven charms, this game is well worth a mere $1.99 (£1.49 / €1.59 / AUD$1.99). Due to the explosive response to the port’s release, the nice folks Sega have extended this introductory price point all the way to January 24th.
If you’re still hesitating out of fear of marring your childhood memories with the oft-maligned virtual controls, allow me to offer a word of hope: for what it’s worth, Sega’s normally broken digital control scheme has been refined a bit, and I’ve found this title a hell of a lot more playable than some Genesis iPhone ports. But if my word doesn’t do it for you, then you’re on your own, you jaded meanie.
Keep your eyes peeled for a full review of Sonic CD later this week.
