What, no midnight launch? Sonic Blast now available on Europe’s 3DS eShop

Finding an attractive shot for this game is not easy…

If you’re like me (I doubt you are, but let’s just pretend), you’ve been frothing at the mouth for some more Game Gear releases on the 3DS. Some months back, Sega announced that the godawful Sonic Labyrinth and the slightly better Sonic Blast would be filling that void in Europe, and now all two of the people who cheered with that announcement will finally be able to get their hands on the latter title.

That’s right–folks in Europe will be able to download Sonic Blast today for a cool €5/£4.50. The game features both Sonic and Knuckles as playable characters, as well as the additional ability to double jump and…um…unique, faux-3D graphics. Anybody on the other side of the Atlantic picking this one up? As snarky as I’ve been, I have to admit…I kind of want to get it.

  1. It’s not a horrible game, just ugly. And as our teachers taught us, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. But usually that’s something that ugly people say.
