Sega shows interest in former THQ staff

Earlier today, it has been confirmed that THQ is closing down three development studios, effectively killing off it’s MX vs. ATV franchise. Sega Studio Australia on the other hand is showing interest in the former staff of the studio. They are actively looking for a new art director and Senior Engine programmer, but they also stated that they would be open to recruit people for other positions. Speaking to MCV, Sega Studio of Australia director Marcus Fielding stated the following:

We are deeply saddened by the loss of yet another great Australian developer, and are sorry to see THQ’s studios close their doors after so many years of game development. […] We will be speaking to the SEGA executives to explore our short term hiring strategy to reflect the sudden influx of talent in Australia. We hope to be able to announce the potential for taking on more staff soon.

I’m glad to see that this young studio is grwoing and actually does care about Australia’s future in the videogame development business.
