So way back we heard of a news story about the old Simpsons arcade game being ported to XBLA and PSN. And while this was only a possibility at the time it is now out for XBLA! The game is 800 points and still as good as it was back then. Backbone really knows how to do a good port too as this has all the extras and stuff you’d expect like co-op and bonus artwork.
But what about PSN? Well it has been confirmed that the PSN port will be making it’s way for download on the 7th of this month and is free for Playstation Plus members. So yeah this came pretty much out of nowhere for me. You got to love gaming surprises huh?

I havent played the original arcade in a few years, but I’m thinking it’s an exact port. Helluva lot of fun too! Sucks that I beat it in 30 minutes, but hey, still got the co-op!
I will definitely be getting this eventually, along with X-Men someday. I’m really excited to see these games get a console release and really the only reason I’m not instantly purchasing it is the $10 price tag for a game that can be finished in 30 minutes. It’s not a dealbreaker for me but I’ll probably wait until there’s a day when a friend and I can sit down and play through them in one sitting.
Still need to give this a try…
