Darkstalkers Resurrection brings The Night Warriors and Darkstalkers 3 to XBLA and PSN

When Darkstalkers 3 saw its own release a few months back, it was hard to not get my hopes up for a new entry in of one of Capcom’s best forgotten fighters. But with this bit of news, the excitement is unbearable: this weekend at New York Comic Con, Capcom revealed Darkstalkers Resurrection, a bundling of both Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors and Darkstalkers 3 on XBLA and PSN for 1200 MSP and $14.99 respectively.

Like all of the publisher’s recent fighter re-releases, both games will be upgraded in plenty of ways, including online multiplayer, a replay option with a direct link to YouTube, Spectator Mode, and an accessible Challenge Mode similar to the ones found in Street Fighter IV or Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.

While part of this does feel like Capcom is getting carried away with exploiting their best franchises for a couple extra bucks, all this focus on Darkstalkers gives me a ton of hope for something new. Pleeeeease give us a sequel, Capcom.
