With Sega still holding a great presence in the industry, it only seems reasonable for them to take part in one of it’s most prestigious events. I am saying this because Sega is due to sponsor the Games Writer of the Year Award in this year’s Games Media Awards ceremony. The award covers all types of games journalism including online and print publications. Tim Lott of the Guardian is due to judge the contestants and said the following about the award in question:
It is encouraging to see excellence in writing supported in any field and Intent Media should be applauded in their efforts to raise the standards of journalism in gaming.
The winner will also receive a free creative writing writing course with Tim Lott courtesy of Sega. The award ceremony itself will take place on October 18th at Vinopolis, Bankside. British comedian Russell Kane is set to host. Submissions for the event must be made by July 23rd. You can find out more about the awards on their official twitter. We will keep you updated with any Sega goings on at the awards as well, so stick with us to keep in the know.
