Platinum Games debunks Metal Gear Rising rumour

Despite certain internet rumours, the studio behind Bayonetta and Madworld will not be working on the upcoming Metal Gear Rising. This comes from an interview with the folks over at Kotaku where Atsushi Inaba was asked about the rumour. “It’s not true” he said, and then confirmed definitely that the company is not working with Hideo Kojima.

Hideo Kojima himself had previously tweeted that the rumour “would be nice if it were true.” So maybe sometime we might see something from Kojima and Platinum in the future. Maybe. But either way it seems that there is definitely no Metal Gear game coming out from Platinum any time soon. Oh, well.

  1. well if it was true they would make a lot of money off it with the metal gear license

  2. I wonder if Rising will implement Kinect/Move for the slashing stuff. I just realised how silly that sounds after typing it, it’s almost a no brainer, right?

  3. Can you imagine if it were true, though? Some Psycho Mantis type character saying,”You like Bayonetta, don’t you?”

  4. @Stooball
Truth be told, Psycho Mantis does kind of have a Bayonetta villain vibe to him, doesn’t he?
