Last year was an interesting year for Sega between their financial issues and some cumbersome relationships. However, Sega of Japan has some high hopes regarding their upcoming plans for the year 2013 as depicted in the following statement in Weekly Famitsu:

Company: Sega
Keyword/phrase: “A Year of Leaping Forward
Look To 2013: We will provide a balanced lineup of completely new titles, series titles, multiplayer games and such for a wider audience to enjoy. We also hope to obtain new consumers in both the home console and arcade market and increase customer satisfaction.

Well, I can see the “multiplayer games,” being Phantasy Star Online 2, and other Total War games. I’m curious to see what the “new titles,” will be. I’m also a bit sad that the “arcade market,” will most likely be focused almost solely in Japan outside of the recent Dream Raiders release. What do you guys think Sega has up their sleeve for the coming year?

  1. All I want from them is Phantasy Star Online 2 vita in America and a new 3d Sonic game. And I mean the pure 3d like sonic adventure, I don’t like the 3d/2d from colors/generations/unleashed. On the other hand I would also like a pure 2d sonic game like Sonic 4 episode 3. What would be really great is if they made the 2d sonic game like Rayman Origins and had 4 player co-op with hand drawn graphics.

    • I would definitely love something Rayman Origins-inspired involving Sonic or Sega characters since I loved Origins.

I really can’t see Sonic 4 Ep 3 being anything special unless they take Knuckles and just make it simple gameplay instead of nonsensical levels and insta-deaths that Ep 2 was chalk-full of.

      Crazier things have happened though.
