Spend 12 minutes of your life watching NiGHTS in HD

Sega and GameSpot have released a video showing 12 colorful gameplay minutes of the upcoming HD release of NiGHTS Into Dreams. While there’s still no official release date for when the game will be released on XBLA and PSN it’s good to see how well the Saturn classic has made the move into HD. Sega has always been a master of unique and engaging art direction for their games, even when there were technical restraints. I think that sort of attention to detail is paying off now with their games still looking great even when we have systems 10x as powerful as what they were originally released on.

  1. I’m not used to watching anyone but myself play NiGHTS. All my friends were PSX or N64 people lol

The music, the sounds, the visuals, all bring me back to my little makeshift room in the attic, so fun 🙂

  2. Great to see it in HD, you can really see the improvements, especially on the sprites (the orbs floating around the characters as the game loads, etc.). It’s going to be eye opening to play it once it finally hits.

Also of note: The person playing this game is possibly the worst NiGHTS player of all time. S/he keeps getting the ribbon and doesn’t even attempt a single trigger trick. Sloppy gameplay all around, the game really is a fluid masterpiece if you actually have any idea of how to actually play it.

    • Isn’t it funny how that always happens? lol

Every time they do a video like this, it’s somebody that appears to not know how to play haha
